Internal Uses
Charcoal will adsorb Tylenol, Aspirin, opium, cocaine, amphetamines, Phenobarbital, lead, DDT, hemlock, mercury, chlorine, pesticides, penicillin, kerosene, radioactive substances and cobra venom to name just a few. How much charcoal should I give in poisonings? A ratio of 10 parts charcoal to 1 part of poison proved effective. (50 grams of charcoal to 5 grams of Aspirin). Since a teaspoon of powdered charcoal weighs 4-5 grams an effective dose 10 teaspoons or nearly 1/4 cup charcoal. Charcoal Water Put powder with a cup of water in a rubber sealed lid jar, shake, and drink. Slurry Water Similar to charcoal water except double recipe and let it sit in still place for about 2 hours. Equivalents One teaspoon of charcoal powder = 4 capsules = 8 tablets Speed is important in giving charcoal. |
